A news article should be interesting and have a point. It needs to cover some important questions: who, why, what, where and when.

Who is the article about, why is this newsworthy, what were the subjects doing, where did, or will, the news happen and when.

From there on in, try to keep in engaging - not too long and not too short. Just right, as Goldilocks would say. Don't forget to use pictures, link to further information and giving people the chance to comment or share is great.
